Today, August 29th, i2eye celebrates its 2nd Anniversary online! :party_confetti:

The following email was sent out to all registered members, but just in case you didn't get it for some reason or you've become a member since it was sent or perhaps you're a guest who is considering registering - it is also being posted here for all to see.

Hello i2eye members,

If it’s been a while since you’ve visited i2eye, there have been lots of changes in the last few months/year that you may have missed.

At the beginning of this year, we asked for member's opinions on several things regarding the site. One of the outcomes, both of member input and our own (staff) discussions and evaluations, was that we wanted to shift our focus to being more of a community-oriented forum.

This does not mean that we don't have any fan fiction or writing challenges anymore, because those are still and always will be an important part of the site, especially since both the shows, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye and DOC, remain our focus.

More community-oriented discussion areas, such as Praise Reports/Good News, Book Club, Crafter's Corner, more Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye and DOC discussion, Computer Tips, etc. have been added. Currently some of the new areas still look a bit empty. We hope to change this over time, but we cannot do it alone; we need your help! So come join the fun!

In addition to adding new areas, we reorganized our forums to reflect the shift of focus towards community. We also changed the name of the site from i2eye Fan Fiction to i2eye Fan Forum and, as a result, have a new domain name (www.i2eyefanforum.net).

We also had our first Art Challenge for fan art, photography, and other artistic media. As a result we added separate customized award pages for Art Challenges (in addition to the writer's customized award pages) with links to those pages in both the user’s profile and mini profile.

Also, staff member zeilfanaat was promoted from Global Moderator to Junior Admin.

In addition to making you aware of the many changes that have been happening at i2eye, we wanted to let you know that we are quickly approaching i2eye’s second anniversary on August 29th. We have numerous fun events planned to celebrate this momentous occasion.

In honor of our 2nd anniversary, the following events are planned:

Participation Contest (Thursday, August 27th – Wednesday, September 9th) – members who post on the board each day will receive points for various activities (the top non-staff poster at 11:59 PM board time (CST, GMT-6) each day will receive 100 points for the day, etc.). At the end of the contest, points will be tallied and prizes will be given for the highest scorers. Prizes will be as follows:

1st place:
$20 donated to the charity of your choice from our charity forum
A user bar in your signature indicating you are the winner of the 2009 i2eye 2nd Anniversary Participation Award
Customized signature banner and avatar made by tis*me!
A custom title

2nd place:
$15 donated to the charity of your choice from our charity forum
A custom title

3rd place:
$10 donated to the charity of your choice form our charity forum
Caption Contest – contestants are challenged to come up with the best captions for the photos presented. Contestants may enter as many times as they wish. The winners of the winning captions will have their usernames and their caption appear along with the photo either right above or below the marquee of the board for one week.
Missing Scene Writing Challenge (starting Saturday, August 29th): numerous scenarios for missing scenes for both Sue Thomas: F.B. Eye and DOC will be given. Authors can write as many missing scenes as they wish but all must be written in line with the shows (no sudden declarations of love by Jack or Sue and no declarations of love before the season finale for Clint and Nancy and they should be rated G or PG). The scene must be written in a way that does not alter events before or after. Members will have a chance to vote for their choice for Best Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye Missing Scene and Best DOC Missing Scene.

Also, we will be having another Art Challenge for fan art, photography, and other artistic media starting soon. And our September Book of the Month will be "One Tuesday Morning" by Karen Kingsbury.

More details will be given in the days ahead on the site about the anniversary events, the coming art challenge, and the September Book of the Month.

As you can see, the rankings are the same as yesterday. However, fewer points separate 1st and 2nd place than the day before. And more points now separate 3rd and 4th place.
